Talent Academy selection tops off incredible year for Marshman
Lena Marshman's selection into the 2025 Netball Victoria Talent Academy capped a brilliant season in which she won the Wimmera Football Netball League 15-and-under best and fairest, two premierships, and a best-on-the-court medal in the 15-and-under premiership for the Horsham Saints.

In the 15-and-under grand final, she scored 22 goals, for a total of 338 for the year, playing predominantly as a goal attack. Marshman other premiership was the 17-and-under.
Despite achieving what she has achieved in 2024, Marshman was surprised by the selection and highlighted where she wants to improve.
"I was very surprised as the tryouts were tough, as the girls were of high quality and tall," Marshman said.
"I am excited. It's exciting to meet new people and learn new skills. I need to improve my spatial awareness on the court."
This year, Marshman was identified to try out for the state team, and in 2025 wants to go further.
"I hope to get a shot at the state team again and try out for that," Marshman said.
"I tried out for it this year, and I think I need to be more confident playing with new people, trying my hardest and being strong out on the court.
"I also hope to play more in the senior sides next year."
Reflecting on her year, Marshman said winning two premierships was amazing.
"It was really good, and I couldn't believe it. I had never won a premiership, so it was exciting," Marshman said.
"Our team was amazing. My teammates were amazing, and we had great coaches, and I was fortunate."
