Rainbow through to preliminary final
Rainbow midweek bowls team have progressed to the preliminary final following a win over Rupanyup today whilst the weekend division one team narrowly missed out on the prelim in a thrilling contest.
An absolutely brilliant day of bowls on Saturday against Warrack Golf which was played in great sportsmanship. The result came down to the very last bowl.
Warrack Golf 15 points 74 shots defeated Rainbow 1 point 71 points.
Stuart Cocks, Darron Cook, Wendy Sleep & Wayne Nitschke lost by 1 shot 27 to 28 to Russell Millers team.
David Keller, Debbie Lowe, Elaine Fuller & Graham Nuske lost 23 shots 25 shots to Roger Perris team.
Rod Mclean, Greg Sleep, Col Gebert & Jacinta Cocks came from behind to draw their rink against Warren Perris’s team 21 shots each.
On Tuesday, Rainbow played host to Rupanyup in one of the first finals of midweek pennant.
Rainbow came out the winners by 28 shots.
Rainbow 14 points 89 shots defeated Rupanyup 2 points 61 shots.
Rod Mclean and Greg Sleep’s teams had very good wins and Wendy Sleep’s team went down by 1 shot.
