From Elaine Fuller
Chris Thomas played 10 ends of bowls against Rob Sluggett on Sunday 19th April at the Rainbow Bowls Club. This was to enable Chris to break a Guinness world record title of playing at the most number of bowls clubs in one year. Chris said that the previous record was 670 clubs and that by playing at Rainbow his total of clubs was 711.
Chris is using this Guinness record as a chance to raise funds for Cancer research for breast and prostate cancer. He is doing this by taking donations and also by selling bowls T-shirts that have the Cancer Council logo on them. He is hoping that by June he will have $50,000 to give to the Cancer Council.
Thanks to all the bowls people who gave up their Sunday morning to enable Chris to fulfil his ambition.
