Wimmera Regional Library Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Paula Clark has announced her resignation from the position and will retire on September 2.

Ms Clark has led the Regional Library since her appointment in 2009. She said that after a very rewarding and interesting career in local government she now has a desire to pursue some of her own interests.

Board Chairman Cr Leo Tellefson said Paula had provided great leadership and worked with staff to position the twelve local libraries as public places where people of any age feel welcome to connect, learn, research and read.

Ms Clark said it had been a privilege to work with six Wimmera councils and take up the challenge of providing libraries services across such a large area.

“To their credit, the Library Board and the staff have been very progressive and worked to ensure that Library members are offered the very best service possible. The library is a member of the Swift consortium that shares resources with twenty other Victorian Library services. This allegiance strengthens and innovates our Regional Library,” she said.

Ms Clark said Regional Library Corporations embody the efficiencies that can be delivered when councils commit to work together collaboratively.

The Board will appoint a new CEO in August.
