From Andy Martion
Wild, windy and wet. Jumper on, jumper off, jumper back on. Sounds like Melbourne weather, but that was the day it was.
The day didn’t deter 14 of the toughest men in the district. A 4BBB event was played in the testing conditions with the eventual winners after a tight count back decision were Dean Tregenza and Bill Martion from Steve Newton and Gene Fuller, both pair scoring 42 points.
Frog had the fire stoked up for us back at the Clubhouse for our return, always good to look forward to, as well as a few hot Dim Sims and a beer. All we need now is a spinning wheel outside.
Spare a thought for Lenny Sluggett who jammed his thumb between a couple of bits of steel this week. For the first time in years Lenny was unable to play golf due to the swelling. Hope he’s right to continue mowing as Charlie’s itching to have a crack.
Rainbow was well represented this week at the Hopetoun Tournament but only one trophy was claimed by Hammer and Steve with 24 points on Friday, 4BBB with best Nine In. They collapsed on the second nine to only score a further 16 points. The winners won with 46.
We have good numbers for our Golf trip to Barham on the 13-14 September with 16 names so far. It’s not too late to join us, but need to know soon.
Our closing day has been set for Sunday 8 September, more information later, keep this day free. A par 3 event will be played.
